Culture at its peak
The province of Barcelona is being dominated by the eponymous city. A sprawling metropolis with over 1.2 million inhabitants, Spain’s second city. For years already one of Europe’s most favourite cities. Excellent flight connections, a good climate, an urban beach and a fascinating medieval centre form a winning combination. But the province is contains more. A beautiful, forested stretch of coastline called Maresme and in the south the Costa Daurada with picturesque Sitges as a highlight. In the interior one finds extended wine fields. The world famous Cava, Spain’s adequate answer to champagne, is being produced here. And Montserrat, a fairyland of strangely shaped rocks on which a huge monastery has been built over the ages.
The average price for a house in the province is Euro 190,000,- House prices show a slight upward trend. The share of international buyers is approx. 14.5%, the trend is a slightly decreasing. Data mid-2016.
